John Deere Model M

The Model M differed in several aspects from Waterloo-built John Deere tractors. The engine was two-cylinder, but it was vertical, and not horizontal, and it didn't have the hallmark Johnny Popper external flywheel or a hand clutch.
The Model M replaced the H, L, and LA models. There where three additional variants; the MT tricycle, MC crawler model, and MI industrial model were also built. The M was the first tractor to be produced at John Deere's new Dubuque factory. It was the first tractor to use Deere's Touch-O-Matic hydraulic system. PTO and electric starting were standard features.
